Friday Fragments- August 14, 2009

It's Friday and that means it's Freewrite and Fragment time! Thanks to Mrs 4444 of Half Past Kissin Time and Sara at Ordinary and Awesome for hosting the fun each week.

I went and picked raspberries on Tuesday. I was going to make jam with them, but then I ate too many and there wasn't enough left. Or maybe there was and I was just enjoying eating them too much to bother with it.

Raspberry Fields

I bought a Picnik premium account a couple weeks ago and I can't decide if I'm happy or having buyers remorse. I like the features it has, but it's been buggy and annoying and generally is ticking me off. It does have a lot more features than Picasa, but Picasa doesn't break every 12 seconds... and it's free. I'm not giving up yet, but I'm sortof wishing that I'd just splashed out on the 3 month plan instead of the year plan.

I love my new bike. I ended up swapping the new seat for the squeaky one on my old bike since it was made for bigger bums and it more comfy.

Check out my Daring Cooks challenge post. It's a Spanish recipe for rice with seafood and artichokes.

I finally saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I got a ride to the theatre so I wouldn't have to cycle through the rain. Only it didn't start raining until AFTER the movie when I needed to walk to the bus stop. I would've gotten home faster and less wet if I'd just cycled in the first place. I can't stay dry in this dang country no matter what I try.

HOPEFULLY I will be going to get my magic orange sewing machine this weekend. The lady isn't the worlds greatest communicator though, so I'm still waiting on her to get back with me. I hope this deal doesn't fall through, I'll be sad sad sad if it does.

I've tried a lot of different photo fixers, but in the end, Photoshop is the one I always come back to.

A magic orange sewing machine? Intriguing - I can't wait to see photos!

OhMyGosh I love raspberries. I am not, however, a gardener by any stretch. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that the raspberries I purchased and planted THIS YEAR won't bear fruit until NEXT YEAR. Sigh.

I've been debating the premium account, so I'm grateful to hear your opinion. Please keep us posted if it gets better or not.

I'm having trouble picking enough berries to do anything with, too! They are way too easy to eat, and why preserve them when they are better fresh, anyways?!

I just use the free Picnik service - it drove me crazy at first with how slow it was, but we've changed internet service providers since then. With IE, I just know that EVERY TIME it will crash and close IE down with the first photo I upload. I reopen IE and all goes fine the next time. It seems to be doing okay with Firefox so far. But it's still time-consuming to upload, I've never figured out how to download onto my computer, and I just use it for "special" photos because it would take too long to run every photo through it.

Yay on the bike and I hope the sewing machine comes through.

Mmmm, your recipe looks delish! Your Picnik'd photo looks amazing - I just use freebie Picnik and have no issues, but this is good to know about Premium. Hopefully it gets it's stuff together for you!

Thanks for coming by my fragments - it's nice to meet you and hope to see you around :)

Wow-That's a great photo fix! We've been using Picnik Premium for a little over a year now and have had ZERO problems (we use Firefox.) That said, don't be afraid to contact the folks at Picnik-They are VERY helpful and great to work with. Tell them I sent you :) I will count this as your entry in my giveaway (assuming you'd like to win! :)

Wild raspberries...YUM!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the sewing machine :)

I love Picasa, and I've only heard negative things so far about Picnik. Keep us informed. I don't do much editing so I'm in luck there.

I really want to see a picture of this orange sewing machine. :-)

You need an umbrella hat!
