Menu Plan Monday- September 29, 2008

A rundown of last week:

The Red Pesto works really really well with whole wheat spaghetti. I imagine it will be equally delicious on other forms of pasta. I highly recommend it.

Brunch Enchiladas are also good. We put this recipe in the keep box too.

Lemon Garbanzo Bulgur Pilaf- Bleh, don't bother.

Shoarma was on sale this week so we had that instead of the Felafel sandwiches since it's easier!

For this week:

Bourbon Chicken and fried rice

Tater Tot Casserole- this recipe minus the milk. And you need to sprinkle the cheese on TOP of the tater tots for it to be truly authentic!

Macaroni Mix thingie- It's basically a spice mix for macaroni, I don't know how else to explain it!

Low Carb Pizza- I'm going to give this a try but I may make a couple substitutions because it seems awfully high in fat.

Crockpot Chicken and Brown Rice- this is a new recipe for me too, but if the Crock Pot lady says it is good, I'm gonna try it.

Your menu plan sounds like a forecast for 100% Yum! :-)

I'm curious: Do you have a crockpot? If so, did you get it here in the Netherlands? Recent discussion I have been having with a friend is A.) Where to find one without paying for shipping, and B.) Finding one reasonably priced.

Hey A Touch of Dutch!
I sortof have a crockpot. It's actually a roasting oven with a slowcook setting that we found in Germany at a flea market for 5€. I haven't been able to find a slowcooker here for less than 70€ and even then they're tricky to find. I would think the Dutch would love them, they'd be perfect for making a nice stamppot!

Every now and then one will show up on marktplaats for around 30 plus 10 or so for postage, so you might keep your eye out there =)

You recipes sound wonderful as well! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I love getting comments. Oh and here is the link to the recipe for Lentil Soup I use, it is the best in my opinion!

I posted the recipe for the 6 can soup on my blog if you are interested. It's very good and very easy.

Oh, I am so excited to try that brunch enchilada recipe! I feed about 10 high school football players (my husband's team) every Saturday morning during season, and I'm always looking for crowd pleaser brunch recipes. Thanks!
