Friday Fragments- January 1, 2010

It's Friday, and you know what that means! Happy Fragmented New Years!

  • I'm not making resolutions this year. I've learned that I set unrealistic expectations of myself and fall into a horrible funk when I can't mark "save the world" off of my list.

  • We spent Oudejaarsavond with a bunch of Martijn's co-workers and friends eating oliebollen, waffles and lots of cheese. At midnight we went outside and watched fireworks for a good hour before we headed back inside to thaw out. Around 3 am, I dragged my sorry butt home and fell asleep. TODAY I feel old and tired! I had a good time though, and I suppose that's what is important. We didn't have anything crucial to do today so it was okay to stay in bed until almost noon.

  • Christmas 2009 was held on the 29th and 31st of December instead of the 25th thanks to the USPS and TNT Post taking their sweet precious time delivering things. I appreciate my husband for not letting me mope all day on the 25th and for facilitating a candle light dinner to cheer me up.

  • I spent the past few days feeling a little under the weather. Enough to feel like crap but not so much that I felt like it was acceptable to stay in bed and do nothing. I am feeling better now and I hope I can stay un-sick through the rest of the winter. Wouldn't that be nice?!

  • My paid flickr account is going to expire this week, so I clicked on over to renew it. It's 24.95 per year, but I feel like I get enough use out of it that it's worth it. But wait, you get a super amazing deal if you buy two years at once!

It's ONLY 47.99 for two years... a savings of... wait for it... ONE DOLLAR AND NINETY ONE CENTS! Really flickr? I mean, really? Thanks for the amazing deal. I'm so floored by your generosity.

As always, head on over to Half Past Kissin' Time for more random brain dumpings!

I'm with you on the no-more-sickness winter. I've had enough this week to last me at least a year.

I'm impressed Flickr thought $1.91 -- that would be about 8 cents a month -- to be a bargain. Maybe you should email them and send them the definition!

Hope you feel better soon. I've been fighting this head cold for several weeks now and I'm still coughing :(

2010 is going to be great though *hugs*

I was very tempted to say that we should just postpone Christmas this year, too. Fortunately, we had a few things to put under the tree on the 25th. Most items didn't arrive until the following Monday. It didn't help the lack of Christmas spirit I was experiencing. ;)

Cheers to a happy, healthy New Year!

I'm sick since the 24th, Fortunately it's not the flu just a nasty old cold!

Happy new year to you and Martjin and Jummy!

Sorry your Christmas was delayed, but I'm glad you had it eventually. Stay healthy in 2010!!! And LOL about Flickr. I can't remember where, but once I saw something on sale for ONE PENNY less than it's regular price. Hahah, it was great!

That Flickr fragment is pretty funny. I'd love to meet the fools who made that decision.

I'm glad you're feeling better and that you were well enough to ring in the new year :) Here's to 2010!

I am sorry your Christmas was delayed. We rarely open presents on Christmas day, instead we make a birthday cake for Jesus. Usually we open gifts on January 6th (the epephany), if the kids are good, the wise men leave them presents, if they are bad the camels leave them a present. :D So far, they have always been good!

I hope you feel better soon and I hope you have a Blessed New Year!

That's funny. I have take over the world on my list every year but I never seem to manage it.

We don't have any family around us for the holidays, so I can understand being a bit dejected with the gifts don't arrive. But after 5 years of just my husband and I on Christmas morning, I'm getting used to it and it no longer bums me out.

I was waiting for the big reveal! So did you take advantage of that $1.91 savings??!!
