Pretty much everything I said in my original review still stands but I'll go over the main points again.
A magicJack USB device that has a phone jack in it. This means you can plug your regular telephone into your computer and make unlimited domestic calls for $20 a year. You can pay a little more and get good rates on international calls as well, but at the moment that hasn't been a need for me. Currently they only have US (and a very few Canadian) based telephone numbers but that can still often work out well for those of us living in another country who have family back "home." You can get a local to your family number and that way they won't be making expensive international calls to talk to you.
Keep in mind the following-
- US (and a few Canadian) phone numbers are available (you can check the area code you'd want a phone number for here)
- You need to have a good broadband connection (unfortunately satellite internet won't work)
- You need to have a Windows PC or Intel based Mac
*Thanks goes to my mom for sending this along for me to give away to you!

Hmmm not bad. Through Bel1609 I pay 1 cent a minute to Canada.
And I Skype my son in Toronto.
Now, LOCAL calls...that's freeking expensive!!
...and, not surprisingly, my old area code in Canada isn't on the list. It's all the usual "golden horseshoe" area codes. :(
What a great product! I would give this to my sister so my nephews could call my parents anytime.

Wow how nice of your mom to send it so you could give it to someone.
Well as we both know the cost of calling home is horrible. I would use so my family and friends could call me..I dont hear from to many because of the price of international calls!
Nice! I'm in-
We would likely gift it to my hubby's Dad in the UK so we can call him more often!
I would love this! This would help us stay in touch with our family that is on the other side of the country.
What a great idea! We currently have a voip service, so don't count me in, but how do you get your comments to show up in the RS feed? I have been trying to figure that out for a while now!
I wanna be in the running :) *hugs* I've been thinkin gabout getting one. I need to read your review.. I've heard they are great!
I'd like to give this a try for a second line
My Best Friend just gave me her new Magic Jack phone number. She was telling me what great ratings this product has gotten. Way better than other products like this.
plz enter me in this givaway...claudia
Ohh I would call my mom, my dad, prank call strangers (lol), call other family and friends and my Ohio area code is there! If I had an extra I would give it to Carrie or Suzy since I think they would use it the most. Aw!
Good idea!!
Don't enter me but how cool! Thanks for visiting!
We've actually been thinking of getting one of these because we only have cell phones. It would be great to win one! Thanks for the opportunity!
Ooh - I've been wanting to try MagicJack for a while now! I would either use it myself to reach all of our family aroung the world, OR give it to my in-laws to use for themselves. Thanks for this giveaway opportunity!
I would call my siblings. We got rid of long distance on our home phone and my cell doesn't get good reception in the house.....so whenever I have to make a long distance call, I have to sit outside.
sounds great..and our phone is crapping out on us already after only a year! I would call family, mostly my mom.
What a great product! I would give this to my parents, siblings so we can talk to them anytime instead of once in 6 months. Thanks for this giveaway opportunity!
I'd love to win this, since I don't have a working phone in my house! (I only have a cell phone, but it doesn't work in or around my house. Super inconvenient!) :( Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love to in this because I won't have a working phone in my house very long. I am switching to the at&t no phone internet.
I would us this as a business/home phone & I would use this to call my uncle mike who just got back from Iraq, & is stationed in Georgia.
