For some reason, I had a horrible time trying to get a decent photograph of this thing. I think my camera is acting finicky because it knows I want to replace it in the next 6 months or so!
This is a candlestick that my husband's grandpa made. I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but in an effort to help me with Vintage Thingie Thursday, Martijn was running around the house finding all the interesting "old" things I could showcase in my posts. This was one of them! It usually just sits on a little side table under some cabinets, so we don't burn the candle very much. I thought maybe it was time to move it somewhere else so it could burn for awhile.

That is very nice, and even more special because someone in Martijns family made it with love once upon a time.
How are you? Girll my dinner yesterday was good. Traditional Dutch cooking, but I love the flavors in the meat when I make it that way.
Oh how lucky you are to have that! How absolutely beautiful; I'd keep it right there in the window.
I know what you mean about the photo taking. For some strange reason, I can take photos anytime except when it's necessary.
Thanks for stopping over to look at my humble little cards; they're very special to me :)
That candlestick is beautiful. A real family treasure made with love.
Use it! Put it in a prominant place like that window ledge.
Thank you for the macro tip on my camera. I do have that setting, just never knew what it was for. I could read the users guide but why do that?

Thanks for the delicious.com tip!
Your candlestick is a wonderful family treasure. I think the picture is lovely. But I know what you mean about how some pictures don't turn out like you want them to. My camera does that to me all the time.
P.S. the candle looks lovely in the window
I love family treasures! I have a large single candlestick that just sits somewhere, too. I keep it because it was my grandmother's. I need to do something nice with it.
This is a great piece. More so as a family member made it....lovely. And the candle looks nice burning.
For having a horrible time, you got a great photo! This is such a nice piece...even better that it's made by a family member!
Nice solid, simple piece. The color is fantastic too. Looks great in your window!
The Grandma J. comments caught my attention quick! It made me wonder what you knew that I didn't.(Grandma M.)
It's beautiful Mub! Thanks for sharing!
Pretty - Things made by grandfathers are the best!
Isn't it funny how some things just don't want their picture taken? I like the candle stick... very pretty.
