KEUKENHOF!
The Keukenhof is the world's largest bulb flower garden consisting of more than 7 million bulb flowers. More than half of those, 4.5 million, are tulips in over 100 different varieties.
These photos are from my visit a couple of years ago. I've never seen so many tulips in my life. I highly suggest stopping by. The park is open until May 18 this year.

Is there any place more colourful?! I'm glad that I've seen it and would go again in a minute, if I could. I have to say that the yellow and pink ones are my favorites.

Hi I have been posting about keukenhof all week.I didn;t see tulips outside when I was there but then I read that yours are from a few years ago. :))
ReplyDeleteThe photos look great. My parents were over visiting last week and went there (I could not go because I had to work that day). They said it was great but it's much better to go a little later into spring when more has flowered.
ReplyDeleteI was in Keukenhof last week and I have been posting about it all week. I never saw any outdoor tulips at that time but then I saw that your pictures are from a few years ago.

ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I have not planted bulbs where we have moved to yet. But we live in Michigan and I do not know if you have heard of Holland, Michigan but they have a Tulip festival that is lovely to go to. I expect you can google it and see some of the pretty pictures. So many varsities. I love bulb plants but I do not like having to leave the leaves until they die back I always have a problem with them sticking up in the middle of my other flowers. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteOh, would I love to visit to see this! Thank you for sharing these amazing photos. I planted over 200 tulip bulbs one year only to have them bloom while we were in France that spring. Not good planning on my part. :-) I haven't done that again, but this post has inspired me to plant a mass of tulips for next spring. Here in TX we have to refrigerate the bulbs for weeks before we can plant them. Hope you are enjoying beautiful weather like we are. I've spent most of the past week working in the garden.

ReplyDeleteAh Kimmie... You make me long to visit europe again... but sigh I can leave my family foir more than 4 hours with out the house falling apart and the hubby pulling all of his hair out... I guess I will just have to wait until the kids are old enough to enjoy the trip too and bring them along... Sigh... It will be years before that can happen... oh well I can dream... Oh and I used to love to pick my moms tulips in our back yard and bring them to her in a mason jar... Reminds me of fun spring days in the backyard....=)
